My work has allowed me to do deep dives into the contributions of iconoclastic thinkers, artists, architects, and designers. I've learned about subjects ranging from the smell-scapes of cities to the role of the Las Vegas Strip in architecture to the state of New York City's urban forest.

As a writer and editor, I've written an English adaptation of an essay on the revolutionary modern ceramics movement in La Borne, France, a profile of an award-winning architect, and a winning proposal for an international design competition; helped shape books on contemporary art, architecture, urban planning, and personal memoir.

In full-time roles over more than two decades, I curated and organized exhibitions, managed publications and a lecture series for a design archive and study center at a storied art school, and raised programmatic and capital support that led to the transformation of a renowned art museum. My training and experience as an artist has informed everything I do.

Raised in the rural Midwest, I have spent most of my life learning from urban cultures worldwide, while recognizing the local as as a wellspring and catalyst for creativity.
